How's this for an EA Sports style trade? What a crazy day.

In a related story, Montreal has been burned to the ground. Again.

Montreal basically said GTFO to Subban.

I said that this was an EA Sports style trade, but it appears I was mistaken on that front:

Weird trade.

If Weber retires early, the cap recapture penalty is going to fuck Nashville like a barb-wire wrapped baseball bat.

Basically the actual money earned in early years ($14 million) is a benefit to Nashville, and him retiring early (salary of $1m, cap hit of $6.9) basically means the benefit dollars need to be accounted for.

Now of course, the league will puss out and never make Nashville pay that, but it's fun to speculate.
