You know, I am watching a bit of the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Is strategy no longer taught to our curling teams? Fuck I've seen some dumb ass things today...

I must be a pig though, and comment that many of our lady curlers are pretty freaking hot.

Curling is one of my guilty pleasures. I'm so happy that Overton beat Jones tonight. Sweet revenge.

I enjoy curling. However, it seems for the most part the men's program is better.

I used to participate in a yearly 24 consecutive hour drunken bonspeil (for some charity I know not what) back in the day. Holy man that was some good times! No sleeping allowed and automatic disqualification if late or absent for any match. Mixed girls & guys teams, drink beer non-stop for the whole weekend, what a gas! This was many, many moons ago.

That represents about 95% of all the curling I have ever done. I don't really like watching it too much, it's a quite boring spectator sport. My father was an avid curler with many trophies in the old display case but I never caught that bug.

Maybe when my son is a little older we can get drunk together and go on curling binges. Oh shit, I forgot, I can't get drunk on 2 drinks a week. Oh well, fuck the curling idea I guess. At least I'll always have these sketchy memories....

There were fewer upsets/surprises on the men's side of qualification. Pretty much all of the big names won their respective provinces. On the women's side, Bernard didn't win Alberta and Lawton didn't win Saskatchewan, which is somewhat disappointing. Not that Kleibrink isn't great in her own right, but Bernard has the whole Olympic silver medallist thing going. To go from being 2nd best in the world to being 3rd best in Alberta within such a short time is kind of disappointing.

BigChief, 100% of my curling experiences were drunken shenanigans. And they were great times!

I was bruised from head to toe. I didn't realize I wasn't supposed to wear sliders on both feet.

My mother's family was big into curling in Calgary, on a team etc. Did the old fashioned pond curling.
