Texas governor, and possible Republican presidential candidate, Rick Perry's student transcripts from Texas A&M University. He had a 1.96 GPA. He got a C in phys ed, one of his better classes. Makes W and his gentlemen's C from Harvard and Yale look pretty darn smart.

The Post It Wars have been going on in Paris since May. It's an informal contest between offices to make art from Post It notes. Photos of the entries are on:

Slideshow of the big surf to hit So Cal yesterday. Waves were 15 ft./4.5 meters at The Wedge in Newport Beach. This is all due to a storm last week that was between Australia, New Zealand and Antartica. A swimmer in Orange County is missing and presumed dead.

If I win the lottery, I'm buying this in southeastern England. It just came on the market, was built in 1682, and sits on 17.5 acres. It has 3 floors, 7 bedrooms and 3 baths, 9,700 square feet of living space. The help can stay in the east wing, which has a three-roomed flat with a bathroom and kitchenette area. It's 2 miles from the North Sea.

Starting bid is £2 million=$3.1 million, but I'd go higher to bid for the furnishings. My IKEA bedroom set wouldn't work here.

You can check out photos on the estate agent's website:

Nice, but most likely haunted.

Cool!

Actually, old buildings like this "breathe"--they expand and contract and it has to do with weather conditions and it sounds like they are creaking. I have an aunt that lives in a house built in the 1830s, and another aunt who lived in a house where part of it was built in the early 1600s, and they both do this.

The biggest danger: those damned short door frames, mostly in buildings constructed prior to the 1700s. If you're over 5'9" or so, duck, or you'll end up with a hell of a headache.
