This is like the Kelowna forest fire a few years ago.

Terrible conditions, terrible terrain.

I hope firefighters get a handle on it soon.

Yes, I know, lame and unoriginal. But hey, if Stewie did it, well, we all know what that would look like.

You were referencing Kings fans. They always think the season ends in early March, which is when the team is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, and their attention is diverted to the Dodgers or any shiny object.

I took these at noon today. I work on the 10th floor of an office building in the central part of OC.

Looking towards southeast OC. On the right of the photo, you might be able to see lumps. It's Laguna Canyon. Towards the mountains was the area evacuated this morning.

Edit: The mountains, which aren't visible in this photo, would be on the left side of the photo. Sorry, like most folks here, I'm pretty sleep-deprived.

Looking west. The Pacific Ocean is out there. Really.

Other places Hemingway apparently drank:
United States, Canada, France, Italy, China, Britain, Bimini, Greece, Turkey, a few countries in east Africa

Cuba was the inspiration for The Old Man and the Sea, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1953 and the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1954.

This thread still alive?

10/3/2007 in Lahti. Have mercy. The quality isn't too great 'cause it's taken with a phone camera.
(Shame that I didn't get a proper camera until recently.)

What's the significance of that? It looks like an average path-walk in Vancouver? Not even a nice one.

Well I've apparently never been in Vancouver. You see, in Finland it's usually
a.) natural forest or
b.) asphalt (sp?) and boring lines of houses and young trees that get replaced with new, young and nicely small trees, when some grumpy old lady calls to whoever is responcible of town architecture or what ever and complains "That damn tree has grown too big once again. Chop it down so I can continue to stalk my neighbours."
Also trees other than those you can find from natural forests don't often manage too well areas that are more northern than Turku and are inland, because, never mind the oh so terrible change of climate, winters are still quite cold. I've lived in 5 different towns and travelled around in Finland. Still I haven't seen a park like that anywhere exept in Turku, Helsinki and Rauma.
So excuse me if it happens to be rare, different and peaceful enough view for me to like it. (And one of the very few places in this shithole I actually like.) Next time I post a photo of a polarbear eating a man on the streets of Helsinki, if you'd like it more 'cause I bet polarbears are something you won't see on streets in Vancouver.

That would only be funny if the guy was wearing a 'Nucks jersey. Or better yet, was a Nuck, period. Preferably Cooke.

And why couldn't you at least post photos of that guy who went on a shooting rampage? Or Kippers birthplace? Or..... Something.

Considering it was taken with a camera phone, not bad at all.
