** Disclaimer: This thread is intended for educational purposes and has no affiliation with the "for dummies" book series **

well we seem to have problems with a puck bunny or 2 on this board... you all know who you are (Jarome_Iginla12 this means you!)...

Lesson 1: The Rink...

Image

The rink is made up of 3 zones... The offensive zone, the defensive zone... and the neutral zone... now here comes the tricky part... you ready vera you might need to write this down...

the offensive zone for 1 team is the defensive zone for the other... the neutral zone is located between the BLUE LINES... for those of you who dont under stand what a blue line is... its a line thats blue that is painted under the ice surface...

the ice surface also has other makring on the ice other than the aforementioned lines that are blue... there is the RED LINE... this is similar to the blue line because well it's a line thats painted on the ice... but the red line strangely enough is... cmon vera you can guess the color right?... yes Jarome_Iginla12 thats right its red... you get a gold star for that one

there is also 5 big circles outlined in red on the ice... no these are not round red lines... well they are red lines but they are not the red line... these big circles are called FACEOFF CIRCLES... these are where most faceoffs take place

ok ok i know that i might be moving a little fast for you puck bunnies out here but please take notes and it will all come together...

now a FACEOFF is where the official (the guy dressed in the zebra shirt) drops the puck [the little black piece of rubber the players (the guys in the colorful shirts) hit with their sticks (the wood thing in the hands of the guys in colorful shirts)]. a faceoff happens anytime play resumes... play ios stopped when the referee blows his whistle (no Jarome_Iginla12 not that kind of blow)

this concludes lesson 1... and puck Bunnies please do not be afraid to ask questions thats why we are here

** PLEASE NOTE THIS CAN ALSO BE USED AS A HOCKEY GUIDE FOR AMERICANS **

You are also missing the trapezoids in your diagram, Professor Lunatik.

K, I'll call you Proferssor Lunatik because it makes no sense.

I already complained about that, but Proferssor Lunatik pointed out that it's far more advanced than some may be able to handle at the moment.

Umm... why do they wear those sharp shiny things on their feet?

Why do they have to be so mean and hit each other?

What does that guy at the end of the slippery stuff wear a full head thingy?

I'm still confused. :?
