I'd prefer to take him in a trade where LA retains say 25%. Or if they took Stajan in return. Not that I'm looking to get rid of Stajan.

LA fans say he sucks, however most LA fans are morons, so I'm not sure what to think.

We're in on him though, so we shall wait and see what unfolds.

One of the other teams involved was the Calgary Flames. There appeared to be a deal in place between the Flames and Kings, until Calgary allegedly changed the parameters of the deal very late in the process. Again, Lombardi was not agreeable to what was presented and no deal was reached.

We do have the cap space, and the Kings are desperate to get rid of him. In the short run it's pretty low risk since we'd likely be given up one of our own bad contracts. I just worry that it's going to be problematic 3-4 years down the line when our young guns are looking to get paid and Richards is 33.

Well he cleared waivers, and is expected to be sent to Manchester.

Whoa that's fucked. Only a short time ago this guy was considered a must have.

How the mighty have fallen...

I guess the Kings could call him up in the playoffs. In the event they made it. And needed him.

The only way he would work ever is if LA retained salary and also sweetened the pot. It wouldn't have been player-player straight up.
Or so said Friedman. And I trust him :P

Well the rumoured deal in play with the Leafs was Richards & Toffoli for Phaneuf. Or something close.

If the deal was anything like the deal with the Yotes at the draft, could have been Richards & 1st for... stuff
