I would assume he will be moving with the Heat

Speaking of them moving it is rumoured Glens Falls will be announced as the new location next week.

Glens Falls eh. That's only about 4 hours from Kingston. Perhaps I'll get around to seeing the boys play at some point.

The Flames AHL affiliate has officially moved to Glens Falls.

Press conference will happen in the coming days, no word on what the team will be called.

Why does our farm team keep moving? Lack of fan interest? They haven't spent more than a few years in one city since Saint John.

I think they've all been business decisions. Abbotsford had the worst attendance but was still averaging over 3000, similar to QC & Omaha, and 1000 less than Lowell.

Moncton - Shared with the Bruins, travel cost/logistics were a concern if I recall.
Salt Lake - Shared with Rangers & Hartford, IHL team (league folded in 2001)
St. John - Wanted a QMJHL team.
Lowell - shared with Carolina, Flames wanted their own farm team.
Omaha - attendance was cited as a concern.
Quad City - politics (I belive)
Abbotsford - bad deal for the City of Abbotsford, poor location for the team.

it's actually quite common now for AHL affiliates to change every 3 years

Is it? I didn't know. I'll admit that I don't really follow the AHL and I'm not up to speed on who's affliated with which NHL team.

AHL fans refer to it as the "silly season". It gets confusing because some teams are owned by their NHL clubs and others have private ownership.

Summer of 2013:
- Houston Aeros moved and become the Iowa Wild
- Peoria Rivermen were sold by the St. Louis Blues to the Vancouver Canucks, then moved to become the Utica Comets
- St. Louis Blues then signed an affiliate agreement with the Chicago Wolves.

Summer of 2012:
- The Ducks changed their affiliate from Syracuse to Norfolk
- The Lightning changed their affiliate from Norfolk to Syracuse

Summer of 2011:
- Manitoba Moose cut ties with with the Vancouver Canucks as their ownership group bought the Winnipeg Jets, they were then moved to St. John's to become IceCaps.
- The Canucks became affiliated with the Chicago Wolves
- The Panthers changed affiliates from Rochester to San Antonio
- The Sabres changed affiliates from Portland to Rochester
- The Coyotes changed affiliates from San Antonio to Portland

Summer 2010:
- Albany River Rats moved to become the Charlotte Checkers
- Lowell Devils moved to become Albany Devils
- Edmonton Road Runners were re-instated and moved to become the Oklahoma City Barons. As a result the Oilers ended their affiliate agreement with Springfield
- The Blue Jackets stopped sharing an affiliation with the Ducks in Syracuse and became to become an affiliate with Springfield

That's 13 (Vancouver also changed twice) other NHL clubs that have moved their AHL team or change their affiliate in the last 5 years.

Clearly "Feel the Heat" no longer works as a forum title.

Suggestions?

Adirondack Flames

Small Flames Ignite

Baby Flames

I'd say the top one, just sticking with the club name.

Edit, I see this is more than one club though.

Adirondack Flames/Flames Affiliates
