Good. Let's get us a coach who cares a little more about puck possession and doesn't rely on goalies standing on their head to win, hm?

Maybe we won't see as much of the Widedog on the PP and more Dougie.

Hartley's biggest problem is that he couldn't be a goalie.

This makes me sad. Bring on Bruce I guess.

Not if the Senators grab him first.

No Crawford or Carlyle please. What's with Duhatchek pushing R.Kruger?

In all honesty, Kruger was probably the best of the Oilers' coaches in the past decade.

Still would rather not.

I have no problem with Carlyle or Crawford.

Krueger was without question the closest to putting the Oilers on the right track in recent string of coaches since prolly '06? That's what was so awesome about Lowe and Mactavish kibashing his tenure, many, many lolz were enjoyed because of that. Just haven't heard much about him lately as an nhl hc candidate so seems from left field.
Any techniques and strategies that were getting tired from Hartley would be double from Carlyle imo. Not enough of a departure. And I just hate Crawford.... Too douchy for my liking. And that not choosing Gretzky for the shootout? I still can't rationalize that decision, it was an unforgivable blunder.

If we hire Carlyle, that shows that management has no idea why it fired Hartley. Carlyle's teams are consistently outshot and have relied on goalies standing on their head to win. Do not want.

Sounds like Boudreau might land in Ottawa.

D. Sutter's contract expires at the end of this season. Reunion tour?

Boudreau signed in Minny.

No to any Sutters.

What desirable coaches are left in play? Sutter is gone, Bruce is gone, and Hitchcock has saved his job.

According to internet, there's a list of about 10 guys. Here are some of the candidates, some with actual reports of discussions, others speculation:

Ralph Kruger (Former Oilers coach, current Football manager)
Geoff Ward, NJD Assistant
Glen Gulutzan, Canucks Assistant (Flames asked permission to interview)
Mike Yeo, Wild former coach (Flames asked permission to interview)
Kevin Dineen, STL Assistant
John Stevens, LAK Assistant (now that Sutter has re-signed with LA)
Dave Lowry, WHL Coach
Randy Carlyle (was first interview)

Apparently there will be no announcement while the Finals are underway, so we'll have to wait and see.
