Okay as some of you know I watched a shit ton of Heat games this year.

Nemisz is DEFINITELY worth keeping.

Positives:
He is the Heat's best player along the boards.
He drives to the net.
He creates traffic in front of the net.
He is the Heat's best penalty killer.
He is a great leader.
He makes his linemates better.
He has size.
He has good hands.

Negatives:
He is a below average skater.
He was injured and snake bitten this year.

Why would we not keep him? It's not like he has been toiling in the AHL for the better part of a decade, he just finished his ELC for Christ's sake.

Well I missed the scrimmage Sat, but I caught most of the Sunday session. First time seeing most of these prospects in person. Beats going to church... :)

For the most part it looks good, but I think you're way overvaluing a few of our players, and forgetting the fact that divisional rivals don't like to trade with each other even when it may be in their best interest to do so.

Hudler is not worth nearly that much to anyone, even with Booth's salary coming back.

And I don't think you'd get both Schenns for what you're offering. Sven's value is lower than ever, Ramo has proven that he would be an okay backup on most teams, and Smid is an injury prone #3/4 defenceman. They're all dime a dozen. We might get Brayden for the three.

For shits and giggles...

to CBJ - Mike Cammalleri @ 50%
to CGY - Tim Erixon, Josh Anderson, Blake Comeau
Why? To troll Erixon and Flames fans all in one felled swoop

to CHI - Mikael Backlund
to CGY - Kevin Hayes, Drew LeBlanc
Why? Hayes is awesome with Gaudreau and Arnold and LeBlanc was awesome with Hanowski and gives us all 3 players from last years Hobey Hat-trick (Gaudreau, Knight & LeBlanc)

to BUF - Sven Baertschi, Max Reinhart
to CGY - Tyler Myers
Why? Pisses Flames fans off because Sven the saviour is dealt and will reunite Max with Sam in Buffalo (yes I assume that Buffalo will pick #1 and take Sam)

to BOS - Chris Butler
to CGY - Jordan Caron
Why? Bruins helped Butler tie the NHL for worst minus in a game, then helps him get his name on the Stanley Cup.

re-sign - Colbourne, Bouma, Comeau, Westgarth, Caron, Russell, Erixon, Berra, Hanowski, MacDermid, Breen, Billins, Ortio, Bancks
sign prospects - Gaudreau, Arnold, Hayes, Gordon, Culkin, Kulak, Gillies
sign UFAs - Steve Downie, Brian Boyle, Zenon Konopka, Trevor van Riemsdyk, ECHL Goalie
buyout - O'Brien (if not already gone), D. Jones

Glencross, Curtis - Stajan, Matt - Hudler, Jiri
Colborne, Joe - Monahan, Sean - Downie, Steve
Bouma, Lance - Boyle, Brian - Comeau, Blake
Westgarth, Kevin - Konopka, Zenon - McGrattan, Brian
Caron, Jordan

Giordano, Mark - Myers, Tyler
Brodie, T.J. - Wideman, Dennis
Russell, Kris - Smid, Ladislav
Erixon, Tim

Ramo, Karri - Berra, Reto

Hanowski, Ben - Knight, Corban - LeBlanc, Drew
Gaudreau, Johnny - Arnold, Bill - Hayes, Kevin
Ferland, Michael - Granlund, Markus - Anderson, Josh
Bancks, Carter - Jooris, Josh - MacDermid, Lane
Elson, Turner - Gordon, Coda

Breen, Christopher - Ramage, John
Wotherspoon, Tyler - Billins, Chad
Sieloff, Patrick - van Riemsdyk, Trevor
Culkin, Ryan - Kulak, Brett

Ortio, Joni - Gillies, Jon - ECHL Goalie

Well, it gets us closer to the Oilers for the top pick next year. Muck Up for McDavid?

Off season

Re-sign:
Mike Cammalleri, 2 years $10 million
Paul Byron, 2 years $2 million
Joe Colborne, 2 years $4 million
Lance Bouma, 5 years, $12 million
Joni Ortio, 2 years, $2.5 million
Ben Hanowski, QO
Chad Billins, QO
Oliver Roy, QO
Mark Cundari, QO

Compliance Buy-Out:
David Jones

Free Agency:
Steve Downie, 4 years $12.5 million
I don't think too much else, unless some trades go down at the draft.

Possible trade bait:
Jiri Hudler
Curtis Glencross (definitely at the trade deadline)
Dennis Wideman

Possible Acquisitions:
Players with shit contracts for draft picks

Lines 2014-15

Cammalleri - Backlund - Hudler
Glencross - Monahan - Colborne
Baertschi - Stajan - Downie
Bouma - Knight - McGrattan/Byron/Granlund

Giordano - Russell
Wideman - Brodie
Smid - Wotherspoon
O'Brien

Ramo/Ortio

At least we hit the salary floor, but probably still not bad enough to out-suck Buffalo.
